minutesDitch the corn muffin mix box that has GMO’s and chemicals. Make your own with our Homemade Cornbread Mix and enjoy this delicious side bread. This recipe is the equivalent of 2 8.5 oz boxes of Corn Muffin Mix.

Ingredients
1 1/3 C Bread or All Purpose Flour
1/4 C Sugar
1 Tsp Salt
2 Tbsp Honey
2 Eggs
1 C Cornmeal
2 Tbsp Baking powder
1/4 C Melted butter
1 C Milk
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 400 F
- In a medium mixing bowl and dry ingredients and mix until well combined
- Add butter, honey, milk and eggs. Mix until well incorporated.
- Turn into a well buttered baking vessel of your choice. Or top on your favorite casserole
- Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until bread passes the toothpick test
- Cool on a wire rack and enjoy!
Notes
- Baking times will vary, so take into consideration whether you are baking a loaf, muffins, or spreading batter on top of a casserole, which will take less time. If you find that the cornbread is browning too quickly, simply cover with a lid or parchment paper.
